My husband and I have stayed in York several times and thought we would try this B&B due it's position on Tripadvisor. This was a good move as it really is a lovely B&B. The room (and ensuite) was spotlessly clean, the location is a few minutes walk from the centre of York, the proprieters extremely friendly and helpful, and... more

Lovely room, decorated with fresh flowers and beautiful photographs. Very comfortable bed, hospitality tray with a choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate & biscuits. Very clean bathroom with soft towels. Very friendly atmosphere. Excellent breakfast with freshly baked bread, fresh fruit and first-class cooked breakfast. The B&B is located in a quiet street within easy walking distance of the... more

I don't often write reviews, but I always check trip advisor before staying anywhere, and I agree with all the comments. This is a stunning property in a great location but the hosts, Zoe and Dom are friendly and welcoming. They look after all their guests and nothing is too much trouble. They even re-do your room each day. I... more

Our family of four was treated wonderfully at the St. Raphael. It was an easy walk from the train station and town. The rooms were comfortable, clean, quiet and well-decorated, with cookies and tea/coffee-making possibilities in the room, and a fresh flower each day. Breakfast always included fresh hot breads, cold cereals, yogurt and a big beautiful bowl of fruit,... more

On arrival, Zoe welcomed us with a very helpful guide to York along with further useful information. On the morning of our departure, there was no problem leaving our luggage until the evening, when our train was due. We stayed in... more

Well worth staying at St. Raphael, booked a night in a double room a week in advance which was very decently priced. From the moment we walked in, Zoe was very helpful in giving us a quick guide to York and showed us to the room. We were allowed to leave our bags there the next day until the evening... more

My friend and I stayed at the St Raphael for 3 nights in early November. We really enjoyed our stay and were very impressed by the cleanliness and appearance of our room (Goodramgate). The bathroom was immaculate and the towels white and fluffy. There was also a constant supply of hot water. The breakfasts were excellent - juices, cereals, yoghurts,... more

We spent 2 nights at the St Raphael and had a lovely time. The owners Zoe and Dom were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and their advice on places to eat and visit was very useful. The b&b was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, and the rooms very welcoming. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it... more
