I am very surprised with some of the mediocre reviews for this hotel. My husband and I stayed here two years ago and it was spectacular. We are planning to visit again in a couple of months. We booked a "Superior" room for four nights ($197/night from hotels.com) and received one of their two-story rooms (#106) which was fantastic! Lots of space. Large bathroom with bidet, hairdryer, adequate counter space, separate shower and tub (but no bathrobes). This hotel was simply perfect. We stayed the week we were in Venice to be married and the hotel stay was a highlight amongst many highlights. Staff were wonderful, friendly and extremely helpful. This is a hotel about 5 minutes walk from Giglio and San Marco (Vallaresso) vaporetto stops, and both routes involve crossing a small bridge to get there in case you have wheelchairs/heavy suitcases/etc. It is 5 minutes' walk from Piazza San Marco, and the street is lined with expensive fashionable stores too. Just returned from a 3 night stay at this great hotel. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. The decor of the hotel is very venetian and comfortable. The room was very spacious, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean with a beautiful bathroom and very comfortable bed. Really enjoyed our 4 night stay in Venice in this hotel - excellent location close to St Marks Sq, very safe area. V close to Water bus station too. Staff v friendly, food v good.
