Hotel Vecchio Asilo is highly recommended. The rooms are large and comfortable. The propery is spotless. The breakfasts prepared by Guido and his mother are terrific (the fresh fruit carpaccio is spectacular). Guido is the consummate innkeeeper. Heed his advice and follow his suggestions for an outstanding visit to the area. Molto bene in extremis. more

The room was fantastic - we had the most gorgeous view. Guido went out of his way to made us feel at home. Breakfast was fantastic. We had some car problems and so we had to use the phone a lot - since there's no phone in the rooms, guido let us use his own phone (we had a calling... more

We stayed at Hotel Vecchio Asilo for two nights in early November. The location of the hotel is perfect, a few minutes to San Gimignano, and an easy day trip to Siena, Volterra and many other towns. We traveled with another couple and stayed in two rooms, both clean, comfortable and modern while still quaint. The weather was not warm... more

We stayed here recently based on the great reviews and were not disappointed. The room was excellent, the breakfasts the best we had in Italy, but most memorable was the great service. Guido is definitley the host with the most. Full of good advice and always available and willing to help. more

We stayed here for a couple of days on our honeymoon. This hotel is as pleasant and relaxing as everyone has written. Guido is an excellent host. He has lots of excellent advice about where to eat and where to tour. We have some very special memories of our stay in Tuscany. more

I don't want to sound like a broken record but this is an amazing place to stay! The hotel, location and of course Guido and his family are wonderful! The absolute highlight was Guido's breakfasts which were the best we had anywhere in Italy or France. Yes, Guido does go the extra mile. He mapped out a driving route for... more

Friends and I stayed at Hotel Vicchio Asilo for 3 nights and loved every bit of it. The family is very friendly, Guido is especially helpful with ideas, recommendations, directions and of course getting our morning started with a wonderful breakfast. The rooms are spotless, wonderful crispy clean sheets and towels. Modern bathrooms though the rooms remain quaint and very... more

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved everything about it. The hotel is beautifully taken care of in every detail. By far the best and freshest breakfast we had our whole trip. Guido gives excellent recommendations for everything from where to park to where to eat in different towns. He recommended a local place called Fattoria Poggio Alloro for... more

We recently spent four wonderful nights at this amazing hotel - what a surprise package! Set in beautiful Tuscany, its location is perfect for those with a car. A reasonably short drive to so many tourist attractions, including Pisa, Florence, Siena and so many more amazing places. The hotel itself had so much to offer. Beautiful large rooms which were... more

We were only able to stay at Vecchio Asilo for one night, but we certainly wish we could have stayed longer. This hotel is absolutely adorable - quaint but clean and comfortable with an adorable garden, a charming porch and breathtaking views of the Tuscan countryside. We absolutely understand why this hotel has such a high rating on this website!... more
