Travelled to Amsterdam for business and was extremely pleased with this jewel of a hotel. Well tended, comfortable, stylish rooms. Professional, helpful, polite staff. Simply the BEST location for the canal neighborhoods, and close to all the hubub of the old town. Walking distance to Reiksmuseum and all markets. Fantastic bakeries close by. Fantastic coffee shops close by(Cofee and Tee).... more

The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating at this hotel. Our flight had been changed without notice and we arrived at the hotel 3 hours earlier than expected. We managed to check into our room prior to mid-day with no fuss, this was a first for us! The hotel is beautiful and very relaxed and is perfectly situated for exploring... more

We have been to Amsterdam before and stayed in very basic hotels so decided to go for something a bit more upmarket this time. We really liked the hotel and were lucky enough to be given one of the bigger rooms. It was clean and in really good order. We also really liked the location - its not to far... more

We stayed for three nights, and found this to be a clean, plush and comfortable hotel. We stayed in Room 512 which was on the top floor (in the roof), the room was just right for two people, not huge, but well arranged so we didn't feel 'squeezed' as you can feel so often in some places. It had a... more

We booked this hotel last minute and got a great rate. It was in a nice, central location along a canal. The rooms are very nice--spacious for Europe, with large bathrooms. The staff was very helpful, and there is free hot chocolate in the lobby at all times. It was nice to bring a cup with as we headed out... more

This is a fabulous hotel, with brilliant staff and a great location. I booked three nights in the hotel for my boyfriend'sbirthday, and having emailed beforehand to let them know, we arrived to a find a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, a special birthday gift and a beautiful room complete with four-poster bed! The staff were really helpful, the location was... more

I agree with one of the other reviewers - take a cab from the station, it's too far to walk unlsess it's springtime and not raining. The location of the Eshterea is ideal. On a pretty canal very close to Dam Square, a 15 minute walk to the Ann Frank House, and a couple of blocks from the trams to... more

This hotel is very well located, infront of a canal and only five mins walk from Dam square. Friendly staff, nice room, just like the photos. There was also a complimentary tea/coffee machine in the reception along with a range of muffins and biscuits. This was a nice touch coming in after a long cold day and having the tea,... more

If arriving by train, take a cab. It is really a long walk from the station unless you have no luggage and have 20-25 minutes to view things on the way. Arrived and was given a so so small room with no view. Asked for another. Hotel was accommodating to a point in that we were shown another bigger room... more

The last couple of reviews don't compute with my own experience. I booked through a discount website and was therefore expecting one of the less good rooms. However on checking in I was given a room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the canal (207). The room was not huge (to be expected in Amsterdam) but was perfectly adequate... more
