I stayed at this hotel for two nights and I liked it. The management really cares for tripadvisor reviews, and they try to give their customers the best possible service. I wish all hotels were like this one. The location is good and rooms offer a good European standard of facilities. more

We thank you for your review. Yes, reviews are very important for us and we do care about what our customers liked and disliked. If possible we take immediate action. If immediate action is not possible we bring it up in the training sessions for our staff by an outside company. Our staff is our most valued asset and we...

We thank you for your positive comments. Indeed, we are renovation our bathrooms and another serie of 10 bathrooms will be ready before the end of the year. As soon as the new year starts another serie of 10 will be renovated in the same style. Despite the financial crisis we shall continue to invest in our staff and product.

We had originally booked an apartment but were let down and found ourselves in Amsterdam with no accommodation, we walked down the Damrak and saw Hotel Amsterdam. They were brilliant and found us two rooms with no hesitation. The staff, especially ?Jeron (a gentleman on reception) were extremely polite and helpful and the hotel itself had a lovely safe feeling... more

We were pleased to learn that you enjoyed your stay. It is very imnportant that our staff has a friendly attitude and that they are able to provide information, not only about our property but also about Amsterdam. And of course, our location is prime. Look forward to welcoming you again in the future

Very central location. Tram stop right out side the front door. Easy walking distance from the Centraal Train Station. Close to the Red light District, the Dam etc. Easy to get on a tram or walk down to Anne Frank's House and catch a Canal Bus. On arrival we were shown to a room which clearly was not the superior... more

We apologize that you were not assigned the correct room upon arrival and that the problem was not resolved instantly. Nevertheless, we are happy that we resolved this by assigning a Junior Suite which. apparently was up to your expectations. We thank you for the compliments on the staff. Hope to welcome you again in the future René Wildeman General...

If you fancy being in the heart of Amsterdam and without breaking the bank, then this is the place for you. If this place were in London, it would be a few metres away from Piccadilly Circus, I mean you just can't be more central. The hotel has a small reception area (virtually no lobby to speak of) and a... more

We try to put a maximum of efforts on details so apologize for the fact that there was a hole in a towel and that a light fitting was not in order. Comments like this makes us aware that improvements are always possible

I stayed in this hotel for two nights with my sister. The location is divine. It is admittedly a very touristy and noisy area but the hotel is 5-10 minutes walk from everywhere! The central station is a few minutes away and the shopping area, red light district and many other attractions are very close. The hotel is not too... more

I stayed for 4 nights at this hotel, The whole hotel was immaculate and the staff courteous and professional. The room was well equipped (very grateful for the air conditioning) and everything in the room worked. The bathroom was very small (shower only) but was well decorated and everything was in full working order. The location could not have been... more

We do our utmost within the limits of a nearly 100 years old building. And yes...only one elevator makes that many guests prefer to take the stairs which are our main fitness facility. Through regular trainings by an outside firm we try to make our staff aware of the importance of their attitude. If some are still a bit mechanical...

Booked the hotel and flight through expedia for 2 nights for a great price. The hotel is in a great location! Walking distance from the train station (5 min) and all the main attractions. The staff were very friendly and always chatty and welcoming. The rooms are average really, a little worn down but clean and comfortable. I would recommend... more

As usual I spent some time researching good places to stay on Tripadvisor and I was not disappointed with this selection. I have been to Amsterdam once before and stayed in a Hotel quite near to the Anne Frank House but this was a little too far from all the action for my liking, albeit only a short walk. The... more

Good location, near Amsterdam`s Central Station. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and OK. Bathroom very small. Ask for a non smoking room, because they still keep room for smokers. Breakfast is very good, but some people may think it is short on options (mainly fruits). As every hotel in Europe, it is overpriced. more
