we booked the club king room. that is on the 12th floor. with it you get a huge continental breakfast coupon and a coupon for 2 drinks and a starter in the bar or the private lounge-per day/per person. we filled up on starter half the time and didn't need to eat dinner. our room was clean and pretty nice,... more

BEWARE OF THE REGENCY TOWER!! The hotel receptionist allocated me a room on the 7th Floor of the Regency Tower. The room was musty (caused by the worn-out carpet). in addition, the chairs were broken, and there was a visible gaping hole on the wall. (approx. 5cm wide).Upon notification, the housekeeping staff gave a cursory glance and said that it... more

We spent two spells of 2 nights and 4 nights in close proximity at the Hyatt, put there by friends who live in the city and who regard it as some of the best accommodation in Auckland for the money. And it certainly is good value for the excellent level of service it offers. But travellers need to know this... more

This hotel is pretty typical of a business hotel, but it's getting old. There is a new, nicer tower, but I was placed in the old original area. The room is kind of run down. Worn carpet, dented furnishings, chipped painted woodwork, etc. The plumbing fixtures are dates. TV is very old w/o modern interactive features. The bedding and towels... more

We stayed 2 nights at the Hyatt in Auckland in early September. The room we had was old fashioned and beginning to look shabby, the hallway had marks and chunks of plaster knocked out of it. They could save a lot of money by reducing the temperature on the water. It was so hot it burnt us. The staff and... more

the hotel room was nice and roomy, clean and comfortable. We asked gor Gluten free food and this was no problem. Room service was very polite and on time. I asked for a quiet room, and this was OK, although not really quiet with street noise coming through. My colleague had leaky windows that whistled and let the rain into... more

I was at the Hyatt Regency for 3 nights back in June 2005. Everything there was superb...right from the moment we checked in. At the door, we were greeted by friendly bellmen who promptly took our bags up to the room. Everyone at the reception was very warm and friendly. We booked a suite in the residence tower, as we... more

We have stayed at 4 different properties in the Auckland area (Mollies, Hilton, SKYCITY Grand, and Hyatt) and would recommend a stay in the "Residence" section of the Hyatt for anyone who wants a comfortable place to rest after an international flight. Our spacious residence suite had a separate living room, kitchen, and bedroom, which come in handy for travelers,... more

My wife and l spent three days at this location prior to embarking on a cruise. It is not the best Hyatt in the world, but comfortable and genuine. I recommend to all concerned to upgrade to the Club Floor, as it is well worth the expenditure. There seems to be a trend worldwide that all desk staff are a... more

The hotel is in fact in need of aesthetic refurbishments, but the standards are certainly acceptable for a multi-night stay. The hotel is on the older side but is functional and set up more for the business traveler rather than the tourist. That being said, it is at the top of a hill so the walk from the city back... more
