Lush Grounds, Beautiful views, on the river, grogeous villas, but way too expensive for us to stay there. Aslo, very remote: if you stay, plan to not leave the grounds & be held hostage 24/7. We drove there to visit the falls, but closest village is 30 mins away on very bumby dusty roads. After many hours on the roads,... more

On Dec 26th we were to leave Turtle Inn after 5 days and head to Blancaneaux. It is a 3.5 hour car journey on pretty bad roads so we decided to charter a plane. They arranged the tiniest little plane from Placencia to Francis Ford Coppola's private airstrip which we shared with another couple. The cost was about $100 more... more

This hotel is beautiful and relaxing, the staff very nice and the food wonderful. The location is odd though - kind of barren pine forest. There is not a lot to do without making a big effort. The massage was fabulous but the hammering and construction right outside the spa hut was not! more

My husband planned a trip to Belize as a Christmas gift this year - 3 nights at Blancaneaux Lodge and 3 at its sister property, Turtle Inn, to brighten the dreary days of early Feb. After perusing the seductive website, I packed my bags with hope and high expectations,( though not having done the actual planning myself I was pretty... more

I have to agree with the reviews posted by the last few people and I would like to reconfirm that if you choose Blancaneaux Lodge you will not be disappointed. The service, the location, the views, the atmosphere are absolutely perfect. Don't be put off by the fact there is only one restaurant for the time being, the food is... more

This was probably the best hotel experience I've ever had. The lodge is obviously beautiful, it is every bit as gorgeous in person as it appears on the website. The grounds are huge, and include a hiking trail that leads down to the creek where there is a stunning waterfall where you can swim (the current was very strong though,... more

My husband and I along with another couple stayed in the Coppola Villa last February 07 for 3 nights. It was fabulous....pure relaxation. Initially we had planned to do some excursions outside the resort, but enjoyed the wonderful grounds, service and ambiance of Blancaneaux so much we did not want to leave. We did venture out horseback riding to the... more

We stayed at BL for the second half of our honeymoon. The setting was lovely and our little hut was beautiful. We really enjoyed our two tours as well and our tour guides were great. We were picked up by car from the Belize City Airport and driven to BL. The drive was HORRIBLE - it was about two and... more

I loved my stay at this resort - though the impatient or elderly may find the long trek from the aiport over a long stretch of unpaved road to get there a little hard to take. The physical atmosphere was remote, serene and peaceful. I had the best massage of my life with a massage therapist named Lek. The grounds... more

The basic rooms here are tiny so upgrade if you can. Food was good. Setting nice but 'pine forest' description a little miselading.... there's no pine trees left due to beatle plague a few years ago. Outdoor activities make the car journey and stay at Blancaneaux worth it. I would recommend horse riding and hikes. The spa is basic but... more
