I was looking for getaway that was completely different, and Maya Mountain Lodge filled the bill to perfection. I didn't have time to research and organize the trip, so we used their pre-planned Soft Adventure package and loved the fact that all the work was done for us. They took care of all the details, provided knowledgeable and entertaining guides,... more

My husband and I recently spent three nights and four days at this beautiful inn. It is easy to locate off the highway, just watch for the signs, is within walking distance of San Ignacio and yet places you in the midst of exotic tropical jungle. Staff are very pleasant and very helpful. We had an issue with our rental... more

The lodge is located just a little way from San Ignacio, easy walking distance in fact, and is situated on a piece of property which is really nicely maintained and quite beautiful. We stayed in a cabana, which while not fancy, was certainly very comfortable, clean, well decorated and for experienced travellers, more than adequate. The food was exceptional, and... more

After visiting Ambergris Caye and Jaguar Paw, this was a great way to end our trip to Belize. The room was good. It provided all the necessities. It wasn't fancy, but you don't go the jungles and small towns of Central America expecting posh hotel rooms. The owners, Bart and Suzie were wonderful. We arrived around noon, and they made... more

Beautiful lush jungle setting, a short distance from town. The hosts were very accommodating, knowledgeable, and helpful. Staff was professional and friendly. A couple of caveats: "Rustic" (lodge room) translates to dark, a bit dank, and an overwhelming odor of insect spray that lasted a couple of days (better than the alternative, I suppose). Cannot comment on the separate cabanas.... more

We have now completed the painting and renovation inside and out of all units as of Thanksgiving Week 2008. Unfortunately due to the worst rains and flooding in over 25 years we were unable to complete painting during the month prior to opening. These guests stayed in one of the only unpainted rooms due to paint scent in others. Now...

My parents and I recently flew into Cancun, Mexico where we hired a car at American Car Rentals (many don't allow border crossing) and took our time sight seeing Western Mexico before we drove south, down good roads to Belize. It's a 4-6 hour straight drive from Cancun to Belize border. Belize, (Ex: British Hondures) is the only English speaking... more

We spent 4 days at Maya Mountain Lodge in May. As everyone has said, the star attraction is the food which is amazing and freshly prepared every day by a great team. We are both Vegan and the guys did everything they could to help us out and cater for us. We stayed in a "Parrots Perch" room, the room... more

My husband and I stayed at the Mayan Mountain Lodge as part of a 10th Anniversary trip to Belize. The four days we were there were fabulous. As everyone says, the food was delicious and the day trips we booked through them were superb. We spent a day at Tikal and it was mind blowing. Going to the Mayan cave... more

We just got back from a week in Belize. My husband, my two sons (7 & 10yrs) and I spent the first half of the week at Maya Mountain Lodge. We had and incredible adventure all thanks to the staff at the lodge and the local tour guides they provided for us. Our first guide, Andy Bahadur (the president of... more

My friend and I stayed at Maya Mountain for 3 very happy days. I loved just floating in the pool surrounded by beautiful birdsongs and looking at the clouds, all in the green and blooming jungle. The tour to Tikal and our trip to Barton's Cave were both expertly planned to provide just what a guest would want/need at just... more
