We wanted a Jungle experience near the Mayan Ruins, and at Duplooys this is definitely what you get. You can't get more remote than this -forget about cell phone service- beautiful, expansive grounds.... with a nice beach on a very clean river. The owners are a delight and all the staff exceed 5star service and attitude. Everyone is always ready... more

My husband and I stayed at DuPlooy's Nov 1 - 8, just when they reoopened after renovations. Everything about our stay was amazing. Our room was great, the food was great, the bartender and waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. Our guide, Philip, was the best. He was with us all week (we were on an all inclusive tour package).... more

I chose duPlooy's because it was in the center of many of the Mayan ruins and we wanted to take trips to them that would be close by. Am I glad we stayed here! We stayed in a bungalow which was spacious and clean. It was wonderful hanging out in the hammock on our porch and listening to the birds... more

We found this a really memorable and high quality experience. Firstly you really are situated in the forest with more butterlies, in particular, than we can ever recall. We stayed in one of the bungalows, pleasant and clean and leads to a bar with forest walkway (check out the bats at the end of this). We were very impressed by... more

Stayed at DuPlooys in August 08 for about 4 days. Had previously read all the reviews, and was amazed at how effecient this resort is run. Yes, there is no AC. Yes, they dont waste paper. Yes you wont see paper cups/straws, but those are the advantages of staying there. The management is very effecient, friendly, always taking extra steps... more

Myself and 7 friends stayed at Duplooy's at the end of June and we enjoyed the experience. The hotel isn't for everyone though. There is no air conditioning and we encountered many bugs/spiders while we were there. We stayed in Las Casita and the house was perfect for our group. There are two king beds (one on each floor) and... more

duPlooy's is a very unique experience. It will be an excellent one for some, and an absolute nightmare for others. For my husband and I, we had an unforgetable stay and will remember it fondly for years. That's not to say that there could not have been some improvements.......... duPlooy's can best be described as "unpredictable". You won't be able... more

We have just returned from a week in Belize. Overall the stay was wonderful. Great country, nice people, and lots to do. We spent our first three nights at duPlooys jungle lodge. We took the bus from Belize City which was certainly an experience. The bus system is very organized and frequented by the locals so it was a great... more

We just returned from spending four nights at duPlooy's. The folks there are terrific and work hard to make sure that your stay is just how you'd like it. The rooms were comfortable. We booked on short notice so we ended up with adjoining rooms with the other couple we were traveling with and a shared bath. We had the... more

duPlooy's is certainly a luxurious way to experience Belize and the jungle. I haven't stayed at any other jungle lodges (there are several in the Cayo district), so I can't say how it compares ) We (a couple) were there for a full week. Their 'bungalows' are very clean and comfortable (one-room cottages with comfortable kingsize bed, bathroom and nice... more
