My husband and I went to Belize to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, November 15-22, 2008. I learned about Thatch Caye while scouring Trip Advisor for island resorts in Belize. A reviewer mentioned the sand fleas at the neighboring resort but discussed how Thatch Caye had solved the problem. Once I saw the pricing and the other reviews, there was no... more

We found the resort via a search on trip advisor, our goal was to find a place out of the way were we could rest, snorkel and enjoy warm weather. We stayed in a Casita it was awesome, spent a lot of time looking out at the sea, the buildings all face the east and every morning we saw spectacular... more

After my researching numerous websites, numerous vacation packages, numerous destinations for many months, many days and many, many hours of reading many reviews and blah blah, I found what I believe to be the most perfect vacation spot!! My husband and I never went on a honeymoon and when we approached our 10 year anniversary, we knew we wanted to... more

Upon your arrival, you'll marvel at the reception/bar/dining area. It's an exceptional space with hand-crafted, wood carvings adorning most of its inviting interior. The extremely roomy, yet cozy ambience makes it a great place to easily mingle with other guests, play board games, have a Belikin or rum cocktail, check your email or just chill. The communal meals were delicious... more

GO GO GO.... Where to begin is the question really, there is so much to say about Thatch Caye. Not only is the island stunningly beautiful but it's accessible and we found, with their help, really easy to get to and for a place to feel a million miles from anywhere and be easy to land on is awesome. I... more

This eco-resort has been made by hand with care and it shows. Travis, one of the owners, is a hard-working guy with a vision. The attention to detail around the caye is wonderful, and the layout very attractive. The main building that serves as meeting area, bar and dining room is beautiful! Balin, the Services Manager, was very personable and... more

Can Thatch Caye really be as wonderful as the other reviews say? After a week with the family (kids 11, 13) at Thatch Caye in August, I can tell you that it is all you read on TripAdvisor, and more. Thatch Caye is not just another resort. It’s the realization of a vision of 3 eclectic and determined owner-builders who... more

It's very easy to write a SPECTACULAR review of this resort. My boyfriend and I came home (sadly) 3 days ago and I've already emailed all of my contacts recommending this resort. I really have nothing negative to say about our stay. They always went above and beyond and subtly, seemingly effortlessly. Whatever type of vacation you and your travel... more

Don’t miss Thatch Caye!!! After sailing to several of the cays off of Placencia we decided to head north to Cocoa Plum Cay. We had heard that there might be a resort there that the kids would like. Not much more was said. Thatch Caye, the resort located on Cocoa Plum Cay was the highlight of our trip to Belize.... more
