We just returned last night from a relaxing and luxurious stay at the Turtle Inn for six nights. The property is impeccably maintained and unique in its design. The pool area is lushly landscaped and provides a perfect view of the beach, water and pool bar. The cabanas are beautifully appointed...the outdoor shower and front porch make them top notch!... more

My wife and I just returned home from a week at the Turtle Inn for our Honeymoon. This was the best vacation either of us have ever been on. The service is outstanding. You can connect in a very personal way with all of the staff. By the end of the trip we had made friends with quite a few... more

My wife and I stayed at the Turtle Inn for five days and four nights for our honeymoon. We first stayed at Blancaneaux before being transferred to Turtle Inn. Based on our stay, here are the pro’s and con’s of TI: Pro’s -The rooms. Our seafront cottage was really, really nice and much bigger than the riverfront cabanas at Blancaneaux.... more

We had booked the honeymoon package so we spent our first few nights at Blancaneaux lodge. This was the surf part of our surf and turf Honeymoon. We went snorkeling and to the Jaguar preserve. The Jaguar preserve was beautiful but you had better be ready for some serious hiking. Aside from the Jaguar preserve (which was worth it) we... more

I know a lot of people have left negative reviews for Turtle Inn. It seems like the most consistent complaint is the expenses had after arriving at the resort (dining, excursions, etc.) Let me preface my review by saying my wife and I chose Turtle Inn for our honeymoon in June 2008 and had an incredible time. What greatly contributed... more

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and our only disappointment was wishing we could have stayed longer! The private "huts" are amazing, the amenities are great and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. We also enjoyed having the comforts of a luxurious resort without being in an overly-touristy area. more

My husband and I stayed at the Turtle Inn in 2006 and loved it so much that we decided to return. Unfortunately it was not nearly as nice. Pros: Staff- Just as during our last visit, the staff at Turtle Inn was lovely. Very nice and helpful. Grounds- The grounds and cabanas are beautifully maintained and make a lovely setting.... more

We just got back from a 10 day honeymoon in Belize were we spent the majority of the time at Turtle inn. As far as a pretty hotel goes Turtle inn had a great thatched lobby/restaurant, pool beach bar and cute private casitas. The beach was basically nonexistent and filled with algae. The room was nice but not very private... more

Yes...there are bugs, but there are bugs in Maui, Tahiti, Cook Islands, Tonga, Phuket, etc... and pretty much anywhere else there is a humid climate near water. This place (and Belize in general) is what many of the resort towns used to look like. If you are looking for a unique experience in a beautiful unspoiled place, than this place... more

This resort is truly beautiful. I can give it that. However, everything else about the experience was pretty miserable. There are hundreds of thousands of mosquitos and bugs. After my 5 day honeymoon here I looked like a monster covered in welts. The food is ATROCIOUS and extraordinarily expensive... and being that the "town" of palencia is a third world... more
