We were thrilled to see the elegance of the lobby and even more thrilled to see the tray of tangerine juice we were served upon our arrival. While the hotel appears to have been built and decorated in the late 70’s/early 80's, everything was clean and well-maintained. Our room was a suite and it was nice to have two separate... more

Some of the negative reviews here perplex me. I just spent seven nights in the Safari Club on a business trip. My room was NOT dirty. The food wasn't bad -- not wonderful, but not bad, although if you want a burger like they used to be before MacDonalds perverted the idea, eat one here, They're great. The Black Forest... more

Thank you very much. I have forwarded your comments to the staff who really try hard to keep our guests happy and your review is like a pat on the back.

This was the worst hotel I've every stayed at. The rooms haven't been updated since the 70's and everything in my room was dirty, dingy, and falling apart. It felt more like 'camping' than a hotel. My poor brother got TERRIBLE food poisoning from the restaurant. The lobby was deceiving when we arrived because it was really nice and then... more

My goodness, you must have really had a bad time in Kenya because your allegations are completely false (read other reviews). It is common for all hotels to receive guests who do nothing but complain about everything. We are happy that you have decided not to come back because you do not deserve our services which are appreciated by thousands...

I normally stay at the Safari Club when I come through Nairobi whether I am staying in town for a single night or several days. The staff are all very friendly and professional. It helps that I've stayed here now often enough that they all pretty much know me. The hotel is undergoing a top to bottom refit with new... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night at the beginning of March. I found the hotel as I expected for the age of the building and country. Our room was on the 11th floor and overlooked University Drive. We arrived at 9:30pm at night and left at 8:30am the next morning, so I suppose it wouldn't be wise to... more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights after our safari in Amboseli. It was terrible. The rooms are still in their original decor from 1983. Nothing has been cleaned or touched since that time, I'm sure. First we were checked into the "VIP" suite on the 15th floor. The first thing we noticed was that the white stucco ceiling... more

I find Mr. Poekelou's comments not fair. The ceilings on the 15th. floor are not black but are painted dark grey. I agree that the furniture is old but that is our concept and the solid oak furniture is much appreciated by most of our clients who know it's value. The curtains are not black as wrongfully commented. The hotel...

I stayed in the Nairobi Safari Club for one night in November 2005 prior to my safari in Kenya/Tanzania. We also had a day room there before our flight home at the end of the trip. Our hotel was booked by the tour guide that arranged the safari (2Afrika - they were great), so I am not sure how it... more

I stayed here for a conference in December 2007. Can't compare to other hotels in the city but I found the room to be comfortable, quiet and clean, the staff helpful and friendly. The conference facilities were also very good. Only minor problem to report is the wireless internet connection that was a bit erratic. Having said that, technical staff... more

Good location to visit markets and tourist shops. Staff friendly enough and provide a good service. Internet expensive. about 4euros for 30mins and 6euros for 1 hour. I would advise you to just turn left as you leave the hotel and there is an internet cafe there. Wi-fi in the rooms didn't work for me very well at all, but... more
